Each year the Chapel Hill Zetas honors Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. founding principle of Scholarship by offering funds for those pursuing higher education.

The Eta Phi Zeta Chapter established its scholarship initiative soon after the chapter's chartering in 1974 and has evolved ever since. In recent years, it has come to be known as the "Be The Change" scholarship where young high school seniors are asked to share their views and plans on how they would change the world.
